This too Shall Pass

Michael Camarata

The Truth?

Let go of the anguish, man.
Death, sure,
You can hang on to that all you want,
But not the anguish.

And don’t let numbers determine your elation.
A 5 second exchange of smiles?
Who even cares about Monday?
This summer…this year
Has been crazy for us all, man:
Love, fear, anguish, joy, hate, passion.

Better days must ensue, man.
We are hipsters, after all.
With a little practice
We can learn to free ourselves
From this fear, anguish and loneliness.
