Poem Tweets The Poem Was Distilled From

Despondent

By

Michael Camarata

Ready for this boat to sail.
That said, it meant the world to me.
The sheer elation was like no other.

Screams of anguish.

All that time and effort,
Always empty.
The anguish I feel can’t be described.
Are happy and anguish butterflies the same?

I live in an existential void.
Teeth devour me from within,
Tearing at me more and more.
It is an awesome feeling
And I hope you can capture
Something similar.

I’ve gone from sheer elation
To utterly despondent
In a matter of hours.
Is it weird I love the dentist?
Of course not.

I sit back and watch as we destroy the world…
Forever wishing to be someone’s everything,
But never getting there.
